Power Pole
Picture yourself climbing steel rungs to the top of a single, 30-foot wooden pole. You carefully climb on top of a tiny platform and after taking a deep breath, stand up. It’s not over, yet, however. You look down to encourage your buddy climbing up the pole to stand, ever so shakily, beside you. Once you are both to the top, you count down together shouting, “3-2- 1.” On ‘Go,’ together you leap from the platform to attempt to grab a trapeze bar hanging far in front of you. The complete exhilaration you feel as your hands catch hold of the trapeze and the view of the river valley 300 feet below you definitely makes the challenge worth every ounce of effort it took. Your facilitators and teammates take over as you let go of the trapeze, and they lower you and your partner on your belay lines safely back to the ground.
