Activities

7Your child’s week at summer camp is filled with new and exciting adventures and challenges. Each morning after your child wakes up and eats a hearty breakfast, he/she has a chance to practice a social skill. Each morning a topic is presented to your child, and camp staff work with your child throughout the day on this social skill. Social Skills may include, how to introduce yourself, how to apologize, or practicing manners. After practicing, the activities begin. Your child is able to select from many different daily activities. One day your child may head out to the high challenge course where he/she pushed new limits on the most extensive high ropes course in Missouri, culminating in a soaring ride through the sky on the dual 800’ zip lines. The next day, your child may decide that he/she wants to spend an exciting day at the lake. At the lake your child could find him/herself canoeing or rafting, floating in the shallow swimming area, or if your child is feeling a little more adventurous, playing on the rolling log, launching off the blob, or swinging on a trapeze. Just think, these are just a few of the activity options. Camp staff work with your child to choose the activities that he/she is interested in, that challenge and inspire your child, and that meets him/her where he/she is at. Extremely low staff to camper ratios allow incredible flexibility and the ability to tailor the program to fit exactly what your individual child needs.

8In the evening, after your child’s adventure-filled day, there are camp-wide activities such as bonfires and games. These evening activities are action packed and focus on creating an exciting and entertaining environment while inspiring individual growth.

On Wednesday evening, the child on the Autism Spectrum participate in a treasure hunt while their siblings participate in an evening specially designed for their enjoyment.

Each day is a new adventure! Be prepared for your child to have a ton of fun, lots of laughs, and make memories that will last a lifetime.
